Becky Brandon is pregnant with her first baby. Being a shopaholic, she wants to buy all the top notch stuff. When she hears of celebrity OB Venetia Carter, she wants her too. After struggling to get an appointment with her, Becky learns that Venetia is her husband Luke's ex-girlfriend. She now has an important investigation at hand which she must complete before its too late.
Like most Kinsella books, this one has great comedy. Baby and Shopaholic is a light-hearted book, with not much take away. Becky's character is so flawed and yet she is very likeable. Luke is forever patient with his strong-willed wife throughout, and that just makes your heart melt. Some of the descriptions in the book are so detailed and delicate. There are few LOL moments but so many where you are inwardly chucking at Becky's antics. There are times when the whole plot becomes like a movie scene, but not quite like planned. The book is predictable but it is the comedy and drama which makes the story so delightful. This book is a must read!
