Unbreakable - M.C. Mary Kom

Mary Kom was from a poor family in Manipur who wanted to become a professional boxer. This was an unusual dream for someone from her background, but she battled against all odds, and persuaded her parents to understand her dreams. She is a passionate mother and loving wife who fought everyone against her comeback. It is the story of India's daughter, a talented athlete who made India proud on several occasions.

Unbreakable is a beautifully written book which will touch you and instill patriotism in your heart. It ignited a spark within me and it is a book I would like to read again. A very inspiring story of a normal girl filled with memories and hardwork. You get a good insight into boxing. I saw the struggle of East-Indians. People call them Chinkies and treat them like they are not from their country. Few people can name and locate the seven sisters. Mary Ma'am is so fierce in the ring yet so gentle and compassionate. She has a raging fire within her, but she is beautiful and elegant. How can one not fall in love with her? It is sad that most people don't know that the MC in her name exists, let alone the fact that it stands for mange Chungneijang. I loved how beautifully her struggle with discovering her identity, love, and children has been described. It is something that connects you to her, instead of simply feeling sorry for her humble beginnings. She has added humorous incidents here and there which make her feel so normal yet extraordinary. I have heard that young people don't have enough experiences to put into a book, but Chungneijang ma'am definitely has.
