The famous five consists of siblings Julian, Dick, Anne, and their cousin George with Timmy the dog. The five are living in Magga Glen with Mrs. Jones, and her son Morgan, to recover from their sickness. (Timmy was not sick of course) After moving to Mrs. Jones' comfy guests retreat, they make friends with a the shepherd's little daughter, Aily. That night, the children see a strange, sparling light and rumbling in the hillside. Julian and George see a woman's face at the window in the tower, and Aily shows a note that she found. The five realize that Mrs. Thomas is prisoner in her own house, with her son murdered. When the five tell this to Morgan, he forbids them from investigating. The five conclude that he is a bad guy. They must look into it on their own. But how to they get into a big house guarded by a huge fence and fierce dogs?
