The famous five consists of siblings Julian, Dick, Anne, and their cousin George with Timmy the dog. It's the summer holidays, and the five plan to follow circus boy Nobby in caravans. At first, this seems to be the perfect holiday, with not even the smell of a mystery, but then things happen fast, and they leave the five puzzled. Nobby's uncle Dan, and his friend Lou are very Nasty, and rude with the cousins when they wanted to camp with them. Julian is worried, and moves the caravans higher up the hill. Now, the men have gone all nice and are begging the children to come back down. They say that the five are welcome to stay with the circus folk, and they can play with Nobby and the animals. The five are not convinced. What is behind this sudden change of mind? Are they hiding something
