Pop Star is a diary novel owned by middle schooler, Nikki Maxwell. One day, she finds that the school has a few bugs crawling at a few places. She finds this very humiliating, because her dad is the school's bug exterminator and she got at scholarship at the school because of him! She is afraid that Mackenzie might scorn her in-front of the school because of her dad. Nikki doesn't tell her dad that the principal wanted meet him. But she doesn't know that Mackenzie has a different plan. Mackenzie knows that Nikki will think of not telling her dad but that's a part of the plan. If she doesn't tell her dad, she might not have the scholarship anymore and she'll have to pay the tuition fees! But if she doesn't pay, she'll have to leave the school. Will Nikki get a new scholarship somehow? Will she be expelled?
The book has a lot of interesting and shocking twists and turns. There were a few parts with suspense and romance. It has a lot of drama and comedy. Unlike other books, this book talks about team work and coordination which is also a very unexpected part. Recommended for teens and tweens.
