Dear Dork is a diary novel owned by Nikki Maxwell. Due to a prank which went wrong, Mackenzie threatens Nikki that she will write an article in the school's newspaper about the prank and Nikki knows how Mackenzie can exaggerate. Nikki and her BFF's can get expelled and she won't be invited to Brandon's birthday party if the principal gets to know about this. Nikki gets a job in the newspaper office to keep an eye on Mackenzie. There is only one job left- the Advice Column. There is no choice now. She must handle whatever comes her way for the sake of her own reputation.
This book had a bit boring parts but overall, the story and plot are well planned. It lacks a bit of comedy but it didn't affect the story much. Drama is there as always. There were many unexpected bits here and there. This book is also based on friendship and support. Recommended for teens and tweens.
