Kitty at St. Clare's ( 6 ) - Enid Blyton , Pamela Cox

Isabel is upset to leave her twin Pat, who is injured at home while she returns to school. To her delight, she befriends Amanda, a new girl. The other new girl Kitty is an instant success with her form. Just as things are going well in the third form, head-girl Jenny is removed from her post owing to a row between the second and third forms. To make things worse, Margaret, the mean deputy head-girl is replacing Jenny. When Pat returns to St. Clare's fully recovered, there seems to be a rift between the twins, and they are accusing each other of not writing letters. Form head Janet finds it most mysterious and needs to get to the bottom of this at once.

This book is one of my Pamela Cox favorites. Her writing style is so similar to Blyton's, and it is a delight to read her works. Her characters are very real and 3D, making them relatable. The book is filled with Comedy, Drama, and plenty of suspense. I love the way Cox gives every character a second chance. She also made the relationship between the twins more realistic, as Blyton writing makes believe that twins have a perfect bond and never have serious fights. The vocabulary used is so simple, that a nine year old will understand it. At times, you will notice the difference between the writing styles of both authors, but if you love Blyton's characters and want to see them with new personality traits, you must pick up this book.
