The O'Sullivan Twins follows Pat and Isabel in their second term at St. Clare's. The twins have decided to do their best after their difficult first term. Alison, their spoilt cousin is also going with them. They meet two more new girls, both completely different. Lucy Oriel, a friendly, cheerful girl, who all the girls like at once. Margaret is a bad-tempered girl and doesn't talk much. She has some sort of past according to Janet. After a few pleasant weeks, things start boiling. Someone is being spiteful to Pat, and all the girls suspect Margaret. But Margaret knows its not her. Who can it be? And can they be mean enough to hurt Pat and then let the blame rest on Margaret?
The second book was definitely better than the first. I was impressed with the character arcs and the plot twists. The O'Sullivan Twins exceeded my expectations. It is a fairly easy read, and even 9 year olds will enjoy it. I did feel that the whole thing was a bit exaggerated, and the funny bits weren't that funny. Maybe just because we're not in the times it was written in. The character development was pretty remarkable, but a still unbelievable. I think the title was not very suitable as the twins were given the importance and attention that was given to other characters. I am excited for the next book because the new characters are generally fun. (I wish my life was similar to this)
