Why you DNFed that Book

Why you DNFed that Book

Complicated plot:
While reading books, people might feel they are a hard to understand or confuse you. This may happen because of the author's writing style and vocabulary. Some people will be able to understand easily whereas some might not.

Personally, I find Dan Brown's books a difficult to understand.

Pro Tip- Try not think too much about these books because they will make you feel worse about your reading habits.

Lack of time:
When you have a busy schedule, you probably leave the book in the middle and later, you want to read the book but you forgot the page you left it in (this happens to me a lot) or you even forget that you were reading a book (shouldn't happen if it's an interesting book). Another thing which can happen is not getting the link to the story. You don't remember what happened before and can't connect with story.

Pro Tip- Use Bookmarks :)
            - Take notes about the important events so that you don't forget.

Uninteresting:
You might feel that a book is boring if it's predictable, or your not interested in it anymore. Every reader might have come across this in their reading journey. This may happen a lot in the beginning, but trust me, it gets better later on.

Returning books:
People who borrow from libraries or from friends might DNF books because they might have to return books in the given time even if they haven't finished reading yet. As of now, there isn't a proper solution for this... :(

Reading level:
If your a beginner and someone suggests you a book, you would want to give the book a try
without knowing its level. Some books might be easy to understand while some might not be of your level will seem hard.

Mood:
You might DNF books when your not in the mood to read that genre. Suppose your reading a sad novel reaching out till your birthday and your not in the mood of reading sad things on a happy day. You will want to just keep it aside and wait for a day your in mood of that genre but slowly, you will forget about it.

Pro TipAlways research about a book or read the synopsis before deciding if you want to read it.

Distractions- People are indecisive. If you are surrounded with too many books, you tend to want to read the other books instead of focusing on the one you have.
