Evita and Ryan come from families with a long standing rivalry, and have already lost a chance to date in high school. Now when both families are forced to cohabitate for a week due to a booking error, they grab at this opportunity to reconsolidate and explore. But will they be able to convince their parents to give their pair a chance?
The title makes no sense to start with, but in the end, it clicks perfectly! The cover too, is gorgeous, i must add (a prime reason for picking up the audiobook)
Ryan and Evita make for the perfect MCs and I absolutely loved their chemistry. Seeing their families interact is so realistic and damn fun seeing they are literally polar opposites. After completing the entire book, it is obvious the effort Baird put into shaping the characters. I wasn't a bit disappointed by the backstory and every person- from baby Louisa to Kendra. I loved the dynamic between the Machado's in particular.
Coming from a country with vibrant culture and cuisines, the expression and flow of that in Right Girl, Wrong Side is pure delight. From their speech, to noisy presence to the loud songs, everything screams Machado. The Hatfields though milder and less assertive also have a big hand in the external events.
Though this is by no means a mystery, it keeps you guessing more than the average rom-com. I'm glad I dove straight in without reading the blurb, because that just added on to the listening experience.
Speaking of which, Karla Serrato is an excellent narrator, and believe this book was tailored for her. Her tone, accents, and flow make this an unforgettable journey and I refused to click pause on my audiobook. If you can buy the audiobook, please do, I promise you won't regret it. And definitely grab your copy ASAP!
Many many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for giving me this dreamy listening pleasure in exchange for an honest review.
