My second read by Stephanie Eddings and it was such a joy! Not exactly a romance novel, but a story that imparts subtle advice and stays imprinted on one's mind.
The simple village like setting was refreshing and charming to the senses with the focus always on the ensemble cast. Yup, the characters are truly brilliant and will have you smiling all the time! Now don't get me wrong, the plot isn't all that light and worthless, instead quite deep and capable of making the reader truly feel.
Ellie is a lovable character, seemingly characterless and timid, but able to do so much for her loved ones. Her friendship with Marilyn was unexpected and unconventional for sure, adding chunks of enjoyment and laughter to the story.
Definitely grab this book for an easy read which doubles as food for thought.
