If I had to describe my experience reading this in one word, it's detached. I did end up reading the entire novel, though I found it very boring and kept zoning out. I never once rooted for the characters or felt a substantial connection with them. Everything just felt superficial and slow. Nothing about this book interested me, from the narration to the dialogues.
