I read the sweet version of this book coz I'm not very fond of smut, and it was graciously sent to me by the author. I like the concept of having two versions that suit different types of readers, and from the one I read, I don't think the book was lacking because of the lack of spicy scenes.
Being a medical romance written by a doctor, I was expecting way more medical references and scenes from the hospital, but there were many chapters that went back to a previous timeline. I knew there would be references from the past, but I never thought it would be a dual timeline. It felt like our MC Tiffany was too stuck in the past instead of focusing on the present. I totally get a character being reminded of previous events, but this had so many references I felt like I was reading Tiffany's memoir.
I will say that this was a quick read and I'm happy I didn't have to DNF it. I'm not a huge fan of this book, but from reviews of the spicy version I've come across, it might be just me.
