This book has some of the best characters I've seen coming from Camilla Isley. I know nothing about the world of STEM, but something about the way she wrote Reese felt so real and empowering. A young woman with a PhD, heading a major department, with her dream job is just so cool. And I love how she is shown as an introvert, but she does open up and there's so much to her personality. My favorite aspect was definitely K-2P, and like Thomas said, he is truly an extension of Reese. I for sure want a sassy, funny droid.
I'm so happy Thomas was actually mature and level-headed from the get-go. Yup, he's still figuring his path in life, but I love that he isn't cocky or have too much ego like some MCs from a privileged background. Loved his family too and their binding with Reese later in their relationship.
