Tis the Season for Secrets - Kate Callaghan

I don't know why I went without reviewing this book for an entire year. So I reread it. I still find it to be the enjoyable, highly entertaining experience it was the first time around. Especially since I forgot a lot of the plot line. The world building is fantastic and very easy to delve into as someone who doesn't read a lot of fantasy. The characters were interesting enough, but I felt something missing. Will's story felt incomplete, and there wasn't quite enough backstory given. A lot of the depth to character and casual moments that lead to emotional bonding and love are lacking. It's obvious that Juliet feels safe around will, but not what led to her feeling this way.

I wish there was more of Juliet and her mother too. More resolution of the tension between the Frosts and the rest of Yule would have been great too. It is unclear what the situation back home is in the ending, and there was no closure in that aspect. It appears to be happily ever after, yet the conclusion isn't convincing. Maybe it's an opening for a third installment in the series, I can't tell.
