All's Fair in Love and Pickleball - Kate Spencer

I love the use of the fake dating trope in this book. It's such a fun and playful trope to begin with, and then you shove our MCs Bex and Nico into these compelling circumstances. Despite all the lightheartedness that this story comes with, I enjoyed how the author tackled some deep and honest conversations on grief and family on parts of both MCs. There's a lot of drama that comes in the book, but along with it, there's so much letting go, acceptance, and moving on that we see.

Older side characters (or even MCs) are always such a treat, because they bring forth such interesting and beautiful conversations with a touch of wisdom. The ending was very satisfying and wholesome in how the whole community comes together for a great cause (trying hard not to give spoilers here). While I'm clueless on most sports and I don't think I'd even heard of pickleball before reading this book, the author does a fantastic job of making the sport very easy to understand without flooding the story with complicated terms. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. A truly heartwarming book that I will definitely come back to soon, and even better if I can get my hands on the audiobook.
