An entertaining novel with very interesting characters and a cute dynamic. I do think a lot of this is so damn unrealistic, but whatever. A man who hasn't seen his sister's best friend since high school doesn't really make sense, especially when they all live in the same city. Brooks basically had a personality transplant and it makes no sense. The grumpy MMC trope felt too forced upon Brooks.
I absolutely loved all the conversations about fashion, I think it was enlightening to say the least, with Carly's background in both accounting and fashion. I found the journey of how Carly found her way to her career straight up beautiful. There is a decent character arc with Brooks and the way he learns to ground himself in his own experience with loss and bring that to his workplace with kindness and respect.
I will be keeping an eye out for more by this author and think this book is worth a read.
