All in for Christmas - Ginny Baird

This book reminded me a lot of one of Baird's previous works, "Christmas Eve Love Story". That book was fairly likeable, but I didn't love this one as much as I would've wanted to. I think the timeline thing could've been done much differently to reflect Paige's internal conflict more clearly. A lot of the story felt far too dragged out in the middle. The ending wasn't convincing to be either, I was rather disappointed with how things turned out.

Another thing that constantly bothered me was how easily Dean told her things she didn't know from the different timeline, just fully believing that she had difficulty in remembering. I would've let this minor issue go if it didn't become so prominent over time. I'd assume any good partner would drag her out to get medically checked if she didn't remember the names and ages of her own children. It was also very convenient how Dean offered to remind her of something just when she found herself in a tough spot.

This is not to say the book was absolute trash, or anything. A lot of the characters were beautifully written, and I have a soft spot for children. I adored Henry and Eleanor. Baird's writing style is fantastic, so it was very easy to gobble up the entire book within two days. The story is highly entertaining and enjoyable despite all my complaints. I can't help but find myself wishing there was more depth to both of the MCs personalities. The way I see it, they were both literally perfect, the only imperfections seemed so well designed and were limited to just the circumstances in the two timelines, not the MCs.

Wouldn't strongly recommend this book, but it's not terrible either. May be someone else's cup of tea.
