This was a fun read, all things considered, but I didn't love a lot of the men in this story. There's way too many characters in the book, which takes a while to wrap your head around, and some emphasis on the actual medical setting which I liked. The author is an actual OB-GYN, so she knew what she was writing with all of the residency experience and medical spiel.
However, the romance wasn't it for me. I just wasn't buying the plot that well, so when it came to the angst and chemistry and tension, I'd already gotten bored. The third act break up was the final straw for me because I hated how any of it was handled by the MCs and the aftermath with the resolution didn't make sense. The reason I say the third act break up dunked the rating was because it made me see how fickle many of the characters are, and that doesn't make for a good romance novel in my opinion.
With this being the author's debut novel, I'm willing to cut some slack on the plotting and character development so I picked up an ARC of her next book (review coming), and though I wouldn't recommend Love Sick, I think it may be a worthwhile read for some.
